Dear Faculty Member:

The Faculty Information Guide was prepared to introduce East Carolina University faculty to the services of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). It will acquaint you with University procedures for seeking and sustaining external funding for instructional, public service, and research projects.

OSP is the official University office charged with the responsibility for pre-submission proposal review and approval, budget negotiation, and contract and subcontract negotiation and approval. OSP will help you in your search for funding sources, aid in proposal development, and assist in the submission process. OSP acts as a post-award liaison to sponsors. We encourage you to take advantage of these services.

All ECU faculty and staff must comply with the University policy that requires institutional approval through OSP of all applications for grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements before submission to sponsors.

Your personal appointment with OSP can be arranged by calling 328-9540. OSP staff are also happy to meet with faculty groups at any time during the year. Contact OSP to plan a meeting for your department, school, committee or other group.
