UNC-Chapel Hill and is available to all ECU faculty via
the Internet. The site includes links to SPIN (Sponsored
Programs Information Network), Federal Publications,
and databases of Federal Sponsors and private
granting organizations.

Community of Science (COS) COS Funding
Opportunities is the largest database of grants on the
Web. COS Funding News provides weekly highlights
from COS Funding Opportunities, which is updated
daily. As part of a COS member institution, you have
direct access to complete information on more than
15,000 grants. If you complete an expertise profile it is
included in a searchable profile database with relevant
links to participant. s research, including publications,
patents, awards, and personal Web pages. The benefit
of COS is easy discovery by peers, and other people.
prospective students, foundations, funding agencies,
venture capitalists, R & D professionals, science
journalists. who need to know of your work.

GrantsNet lists funding opportunities for training in
biological and medical sciences. The American
Association for the Advancement of Science and
Howard Hughes Medical Institute has created a
searchable database of biomedical funding options
from non-profit organizations and federal agencies.
They are also building a collection of interviews with
application reviewers, program officers, and recent
award recipients.

TRAM is a service initially developed by the Texas
Research Administrators Group (TRAM). It contains a
search engine for locating funding opportunities from
many different agencies. The funding information is
updated daily. TRAM also contains a set of grant
application forms collected from various sources and
links to other servers related to research funding and
administration.

Federal Register (via the Community of Science)
Federal Register releases issued by the U.S.
Government Printing Office (GPO), and published on
the Web by Community of Science, the Federal
Register (FR) lists U.S. federal agency announcements
and information, such as presidential documents,
agency meetings, grant opportunities, and proposed
federal regulations. The GPO publishes a new edition
of the Federal Register every business day, which COS
normally receives and uploads into its FR database
before ten o. clock each morning.
