The Renewable Energy in Tourism Initiative (RETI) is a not for profit project to facilitate the expansion of sustainable energy practices
among members of the travel and tourism industry. The initiative is a joint venture of the University of Colorado Energy Initiative, East
Carolina University’s Center for Sustainable Tourism & National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

The project's two key objectives will be realized in stages and include: |
| 1) |
Develop and publish the Renewable Energy in Tourism Best Practice Manuals.
These manuals will be updated regularly, published in pdf format and available
for download at www.renewabletourism.com.

| 2) |
Establish a permanent RETI university program, which will host regular conferences,
workshops, forums, field trips, and courses to cultivate new innovation in the field
of renewable energy and communicate these opportunities to current and future
members of the tourism industry. |
